About The Speyside Whisky Shop
My name is Jodi, and I’m one half of the family behind The Speyside Whisky Shop.
We’re an independent, family-run whisky shop based in Aberlour, right in the heart of the Speyside whisky region. With over 30 distilleries within ten miles of our door, we’re incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a rich whisky heritage, and it’s something I never take for granted.
A Little About Us
My husband Scott and I took over the shop in the summer of 2023. While the shop itself has been part of the local community since 2018, becoming its custodians felt like a natural step for us. We’re raising our three young boys alongside the business, and family really is at the centre of everything we do.
I was born and raised in Craigellachie, and much of my family still live in the village, so this area has always been home. Alongside the whisky shop, Scott and I also run Craigellachie Lodge, a small boutique hotel, and The Patch, our little seasonal coffee van at Craigellachie Pavilion, just down from the Highlander Inn. All of our businesses are rooted in the same idea: offering genuine, warm hospitality in places we love.
What You’ll Find Here
Our main focus is single malt whisky, particularly bottles that tell a story. Whether that’s through the distillery, the cask, or the independent bottler behind it. We love helping people discover something new, whether they’re just starting their whisky journey or have been enjoying it for years.
That passion for quality doesn’t stop at whisky. We also stock a carefully chosen range of craft beer, wine, and other spirits, with a strong emphasis on independent producers and well-made drinks we genuinely believe in.
More Than Just a Shop
I wanted the shop to feel welcoming and relaxed, a place where people can take their time. On the shop floor, we have a small seating area where guests can sit down and enjoy a dram.
Through the back, we have a dedicated tasting room that seats up to ten guests. This is where we host personalised tastings, private experiences, and opportunities to explore whiskies from our dram wall in a more intimate setting.
Our Approach
For me, whisky has always been about people, place, and shared moments. As a local, independent, family-run business, my aim is simple: to offer honest advice, great whisky, and a warm welcome to everyone who comes through our door.
