Balvenie 17 Year Old – Week of Peat is a distinctive limited release from The Balvenie, created to showcase an unusual side of the distillery’s character. First released in 2019 as part of Balvenie’s Stories range, this whisky draws on the distillery’s annual “Week of Peat,” when lightly peated malt is used in place of Balvenie’s usual unpeated style. Matured primarily in American oak barrels, it balances gentle smoke with Balvenie’s signature honeyed sweetness, offering flavours of soft peat embers, vanilla, orchard fruit and a subtle citrus freshness, with the peat remaining restrained and elegant rather than dominant.
