This non-age-statement expression is crafted from a carefully selected marriage of American and European oak sherry-seasoned casks alongside American ex-bourbon barrels, a combination that reflects The Macallan’s deep expertise in oak maturation and delivers a rich, approachable dram at 43% ABV. Drawing on seasonal flavours associated with shortbread and winter celebrations, it opens with creamy notes of vanilla and buttery baked apples, leading into a palate of soft, velvety sweetness reminiscent of freshly baked biscuits, fig, dried oranges and gentle spice before finishing medium with sweet butterscotch and oven-fresh richness. The bottle is presented in distinctive packaging featuring artwork by international illustrator Erica Dorn that captures the warmth and optimism of Hogmanay celebrations, making it both a flavourful whisky and a symbolic seasonal gift from The Macallan’s Speyside heritage.
