The Macallan Edition No. 6 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky and the sixth release in The Macallan’s acclaimed Edition series, launched in 2020 as a deliberate exploration of flavour diversity drawn from carefully selected casks across the distillery’s stocks. Rather than carrying an age statement, Edition 6 celebrates the role of cask influence in shaping character, blending spirit from a range of European and American oak casks, seasoned with both sherry and bourbon to create a harmonious yet intriguing profile that highlights The Macallan’s wood management expertise. Bottled at 48.3 % ABV, Edition 6 opens with inviting notes of fresh citrus, orchard fruits and vanilla, leading into a palate where crisp apple and honeyed sweetness evolve with gentle spice, toasted oak and soft dark chocolate, finishing long and balanced with warming oak and subtle dried fruit, a richly layered dram that reflects both creativity and tradition in The Macallan’s approach to single malt whisky.
