Macallan Edition No. 5 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky and the fifth instalment in The Macallan’s annual Edition series, originally released in 2019 as a celebration of the whisky’s natural colour and oak influence. Rather than an age-statement expression, this NAS release showcases a meticulously curated selection of casks, including first-fill American oak bourbon barrels, refill hogsheads and various first-fill seasoned American oak butts, that together create a richly hued spirit whose depth of colour is central to its concept and packaging, highlighted by a bespoke Pantone purple created in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute™.
