Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch No 4 is a bold and expressive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Tamdhu’s acclaimed Batch Strength series, first unveiled in 2019 as the fourth annual instalment showcasing the distillery’s mastery of sherry cask maturation. Unlike most standard expressions, this release is bottled at natural cask strength of 57.8% ABV and is matured exclusively in a combination of American and European oak Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain, giving it a naturally rich colour and intense flavour without chill filtration or added colouring. The Batch Strength series reflects Tamdhu’s deep commitment to its sherry-led identity, a direction the distillery embraced fully after its 2012 revival under new ownership and aims to deliver whisky in as pure and powerful a form as possible. On the nose this whisky reveals warm spice, dried fruits and subtle vanilla, while the palate offers rich syrupy sweetness with notes of dark berries, caramel, fudge and oak spice, finishing long and warming with lingering sherried complexity that will appeal to fans of full-bodied, richly flavoured Scotch.
