Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch No 5 is the fifth annual release in Tamdhu’s much-loved Batch Strength series, a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that celebrates the distillery’s longstanding dedication to sherry-oak maturation. Released in 2020 as part of this ongoing limited-edition line, it’s bottled at natural cask strength of 59.8% ABV and is matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain, which impart a rich, deep copper colour and hallmark richness without chill filtration or added colouring. The Batch Strength series itself was created to showcase Tamdhu’s traditional approach, every annual expression varies slightly in character and strength yet always reflects the distillery’s full sherry cask philosophy that has defined its modern identity. On the nose this fifth release reveals inviting aromas of warm vanilla, cinnamon spice and roasted Brazil nuts, while the palate delivers a luxurious, thick mouthfeel with sharp summer berries cutting through rich cream before a long, warming finish of spice and citrus zest, making it a compelling choice for lovers of robust, sherried Scotch.
