Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch #6 is the sixth limited-edition release in Tamdhu’s acclaimed Batch Strength series, a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that continues the distillery’s celebration of full sherry cask maturation. Released around 2021 and bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.8% ABV, this expression reflects Tamdhu’s longstanding philosophy of maturing its spirit exclusively in hand-selected Oloroso sherry seasoned casks, with a particularly high proportion of first-fill barrels chosen for depth of colour and complexity. On the nose, rich aromas of toasted oak, sweet vanilla and roasted nuts give way on the palate to vibrant notes of summer berries and citrus, with water releasing additional layers of orange, lemon and oak spice, culminating in a long, spice-tinged finish that showcases the expressive power of sherry wood influence.
